Hi, thank you for your inquiry. Our Candles will not smoke, especially if they are burned properly, and follow our guidelines and safety tips whilst using our products to reduce the likelihood of any problems. These can be found on the bottom of our candles (in the form of pictograms), on safety leaflets in local stores, and also on our website. Wick Trimming: If the wick is too long, it can cause the candle to flicker and produce smoke. It's recommended to trim the wick to about 1/8 to 1/4 inch before lighting the candle. Overheating or Burnt Wick: If the candle is left burning for too long, the wick can become too high, which may result in smoke. You should extinguish the candle if the flame gets too large or produces excessive smoke. Extinguishing the Candle: If you blow out a candle, it may produce a brief puff of smoke as the flame extinguishes. This is normal for most candles. In general, if burned properly, Our Candles shouldn't produce noticeable smoke. I agree....no smell. I've bought Yankee candles since 1998. Fragrance has degraded over past 3-4 years. I can't even smell Fragrance at all now. Family and friends used to always rave over my lemon lavender Fragrance. Now they ask me what happened to my wonderful candles 😔 😟 😠

I spent $100.00 on Yankee Candles for this Christmas (in November 2021) and they were on sale. I cannot smell a thing unless I put my nose in the jar. Are these old candles from the warehouse that was trying to be moved fast? So unhappy!

I doubt the candles you bought are old ones. Yankee candles are nothing like they were years ago. Previously, you could purchase any scent, and it could be smelled throughout the house. Now, you're lucky to find a fragrance you can smell at all. Yankee doesn't put sufficient fragrance in their candles anymore. That really sucks, because Yankee used to be one of the best, if not the best, candle on the market. It is thoroughly disappointing that apparent corporate greed is taking precedence over producing a quality product that customers are happy to have purchased. I know of only three scents worth buying. Those are Rose, Balsam & Cedar, and Lilic Blossoms. However, the latter is about to be dropped from my list, because the last two I bought are not strong smelling at all. Come on, Yankee Candle, stick the greed where the sun doesn't shine and give us back the candles you used to produce!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
